4.27.20 Principal Update

Good Afternoon -

Hope this email finds you well and in the process of coming to terms with the news that school will be virtual for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year.  I know this is hard on all of us.  Please be sure to focus on staying mentally and physically healthy during this time.  If you have concerns, reach out to your teachers, counselor, or administration.  We are here for you.

Badger will continue to honor many of the celebrations that typically occur in the last month of school.  The Senior Awards and Scholarship Night will happen in a virtual form.  More information to follow, but know that Seniors will be recognized as is our Badger tradition.  Seniors will graduate and we will have a ceremony/celebration to commemorate this event.  And, more information will follow as we hear from the State of Wisconsin and develop a plan.

The rest of this school year will be a continuation of our online learning.  Know that Quarter 4 can only help your overall grade, so keep engaged and working.  There will not be final exams this semester.  The last day of online learning will be June 5.

Together, we will get through this unprecedented time.  Conversations among the Badger community have focused on feelings of great appreciation for the helpers.  Those who are providing medical assistance, providing a source of food, and those who are providing a sense of hope and love to those in our community.  Thank you for all you are doing to stay positive and supportive of one another.  As many people have said - ‘this will have a beginning, a middle, and an end’.

Better Never Stops Badger.  Be Well.

ACT

Here is information from ACT giving guidance to those looking to take the ACT this summer and get information on how to prepare for the test.

ACT with writing

June 2 Testing Date Cancelled

In response to the Governor’s most recent order to extend Safer at Home and close all public and private K-12 schools for the remainder of the academic year, the June 2 in-school ACT testing date will no longer be offered.  Students who did not test in March will still have the opportunity to take the ACT with writing on national testing dates through the voucher program.

Vouchers for National Testing Dates:

With the recent order closing schools through the end of the school year, it is not feasible to offer vouchers for the June 13 ACT national testing date. The July 18 ACT test date is not currently impacted by the order to close schools and we anticipate being able to provide vouchers to DACs in the near future for this date.

Additional information related to the vouchers: - Vouchers are only to be provided to 11th grade students who were not able to test on March 3 or March 17. These vouchers provide students with the opportunity to test. There is no requirement that students test on this date. - Students that tested on March 3 or March 17 are not eligible for a voucher. - July 18, 2020 ACT Test Date: Student Registration Deadline - June 19, 2020  - More detailed information will be provided when vouchers arrive in districts
