28th Annual Badger FFA Greenhouse Sale Begins May 6th—ONLINE SALES ONLY

Spring is not canceled! The Badger FFA Greenhouse will open “virtually” to all on Wednesday, May 6th, with a link at the website www.badgerffa.org. Plants will be available for pickup only on May 6-9, May 11-16, May 18-23 and May 26-27.

Students in the greenhouse management class initially planted about half of the plants, until the COVID-19 shut down the schools. A very small group of volunteers helped plant the rest of the plants ordered. Agriculture Instructor Larry Plapp estimates that over 30,000 plants have been planted for this annual event. Plapp said this is the 28th year of the greenhouse sale.

For this year, there will be NO browsing for plants at the greenhouse.  Instead, a complete online ordering form, with pictures of every plant, descriptions, pricing, and even an item inventory will be available for shoppers to use. Shoppers will place their order, pay for the order, and set up a specific time/date for pickup all from the website. When the shopper gets to the greenhouse parking lot at the assigned time, they will check-in/or call to let the greenhouse know they are at the greenhouse.

Plapp asks for a 5-hour window from ordering to pickup to allow the plants to be picked by the volunteers. “We are asking for people to be patient with us as we roll this out on the fly. As no students can be present, we have many individuals who are simply volunteering to help us fill these orders”. The delivery will be contactless; the volunteers following proper CDE guidelines for masks, gloves, and sanitation, will bring out the plants to a table next to the car and the purchaser will verify the order.
