College Goal Wisconsin to provide free FAFSA help at Badger High School November 6th, drawing for scholarship

Since 2006, over 23,000 Wisconsin students have received free help completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at College Goal Wisconsin events held throughout the state. Financial aid professionals and other educators volunteer at the event to help students and their families complete the FAFSA. Anyone who is planning to pursue a postsecondary education in the 2020-21 academic year should complete the FAFSA. The FAFSA is the form that must be submitted in order to be considered for federal and state financial aid including grants and loans. Students pursuing a postsecondary education in 2020-21 can complete the FAFSA beginning October 1.

College Goal Wisconsin will hold events at 44 locations from October 2 until November 6. There will be an event held at Badger High School on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 in the Recital Hall with registration beginning at 5:30 and the workshop beginning at 6 p.m., promptly.

Parents are encouraged to attend with students. It is important to review the College Goal Wisconsin website for a listing of items to bring to successfully complete the application:  www.collegegoalwi.org.

In addition to getting professional help completing the FAFSA, attendees will have the opportunity to enter a scholarship drawing. The scholarship can be used at any private or public accredited college/university in the United States. The winner must be attending college in the fall of 2020 as a full-time undergraduate student. Last year, two of the state’s winners began or completed a FAFSA at the Badger High School event which over 100 people attended.

No pre-registration is required.
