Badger students and families,

Badger has been back to school for four weeks now and I want to thank you for all you are doing to help us maintain our ability to offer in-person education as well as a virtual option for our students and families.  2020 has not been an easy year for our students.  The spring saw the cancellation of in-person school, sports, club activities, and traditions such as Prom.  We know that this time is not ideal and as much as we try, there will continue to be traditions that we must set aside or modify as we continue to navigate this school year.

Homecoming is one such tradition that will see modification this fall.  The week will include our tradition of dress-up days to show school spirit and community.  Badger football will play on Friday, October 2 in our stadium.  There are, however, several events that will not take place this year.  Battle of the Bands, Powderpuff, the Parade, and the Dance all have been canceled for this year.  The Pep Assembly will be significantly modified to accommodate the need for physical distancing.  The football game will have limited seating.  Again, this is not ideal nor something that the administration or Student Council has taken lightly.  

Students may wish to get together with friends to celebrate Homecoming especially since many of the Badger festivities have been canceled.  I would ask that you think about the Badger community as you make your plans.  Our collective goal is to continue our in-person education plan this school year.  This means we all must commit to continuing to operate in ways that ensure that we are collectively healthy and can continue to have the majority of our students in our building.  This year may certainly not go down as a favorite year of high school for many, but it will definitely be one to remember.  Thank you for your understanding and efforts to keep Badger healthy and learning.

Estudiantes y familias de tejones,
Badger ha vuelto a la escuela durante cuatro semanas y quiero agradecerles por todo lo que están haciendo para ayudarnos a mantener nuestra capacidad de ofrecer educación en persona, así como una opción virtual para nuestros estudiantes y familias. 2020 no ha sido un año fácil para nuestros estudiantes. La primavera vio la cancelación de la escuela en persona, los deportes, las actividades del club y las tradiciones como el baile de graduación. Sabemos que este momento no es el ideal y por mucho que lo intentemos, seguirá habiendo tradiciones que debemos dejar de lado o modificar a medida que continuamos navegando este año escolar.

El regreso a casa es una de esas tradiciones que verá modificaciones este otoño. La semana incluirá nuestra tradición de días de disfraces para mostrar el espíritu escolar y la comunidad. Badger football se jugará el viernes 2 de octubre en nuestro estadio. Sin embargo, hay varios eventos que no se llevarán a cabo este año. Battle of the Bands, Powderpuff, The Parade y Dance han sido cancelados para este año. La Pep Assembly se modificará significativamente para adaptarse a la necesidad de distanciamiento físico. El juego de fútbol tendrá asientos limitados. Una vez más, esto no es ideal ni es algo que la administración o el Consejo de Estudiantes se hayan tomado a la ligera.

Los estudiantes pueden querer reunirse con amigos para celebrar el regreso a casa, especialmente porque muchas de las festividades de Badger han sido canceladas. Les pido que piensen en la comunidad de Badger mientras hacen sus planes. Nuestro objetivo colectivo es continuar con nuestro plan de educación en persona este año escolar. Esto significa que todos debemos comprometernos a continuar operando de manera que se asegure que seamos colectivamente saludables y podamos continuar teniendo a la mayoría de nuestros estudiantes en nuestro edificio. Este año ciertamente no será uno de los favoritos de la escuela secundaria para muchos, pero definitivamente será uno para recordar. Gracias por su comprensión y sus esfuerzos para mantener a Badger saludable y aprendiendo.
