Diners are a special place. You can get your coffee, fall in love, and find light when the world is dark. Duke’s Diner is a family business - four generations strong.
On the day before Felix is to leave for college, she decides she wants one last hurrah. She plans on doing the full run - working at the family diner open to close, all day - just like her grandpa did when he was a teenager. But why? Everyone knows Felix never cared about the diner before. Why is she trying so hard to connect? Throughout the day, Felix realizes leaving home is easier said than done, family is about more than just relationships, and starting over is an intimidating process. Other people, she realizes, are what really matter. Through memories, flashbacks, and real-time interactions, Felix discovers who she is, where she has come from, and what she wants to become.
This family appropriate heartfelt comedy runs May 3, 4, 5 at 7:00 PM in the Badger Recital Hall. Tickets are limited to 160 each night, so buying ahead of time is highly encouraged. Tickets are available in the Badger Front Office or by calling 262-348-2000. All tickets are $5.
