Stanton Named Interim Associate Principal at Badger

Katherine Stanton was named Interim Associate Principal at Badger High School at the August meeting of the Lake Geneva-Genoa City UHS Board of Education. Stanton has been a science teacher at Badger since 2011. She previously taught at Oak Creek High School after earning her degree from University of Wisconsin. Stanton earned her Master’s in Educational Administration from Concordia University and, for the past five years, has been Summer School Principal at Badger. She fills the position vacated by the promotion of Jenny Straus to Interim Principal.

Promoting the positive culture at Badger is a goal for Stanton this year. She strives to aid in all students feeling welcome and accepted and for them to know they can achieve any goal they set for themselves.

Stanton believes the best thing about Badger is the sense family. “Although there are close to 1,500 students plus faculty and staff, you feel that every person you pass in the hallway cares about each other, is welcoming and helpful,” she said.

Previously at Badger Katherine was co-chairperson of the Science Department where she mentored new teachers and worked to revamp science curriculum to meet new state standards. She has assisted with the Cross Country team, helped develop the Women’s Wellness Week, served as advisor for an afterschool cuisine club.

Katherine and her husband Nolan have a three-year-old daughter Nora. In her spare time she enjoys boating with friends.
