Badger High School Technology Education Department Recognized as a Program of Excellence
The Badger High School Technology Education Department will receive a prestigious “Program Excellence Award,” sponsored by the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEAA). The award is among the highest honors given to technology and engineering programs. It is presented in recognition of outstanding contributions to the profession and students in superior K-12 technology and engineering education programs around the world.
As a result, award-winning programs serve as a standard for comparison and models for the development of other programs. This underscores the importance that each program selected reflects contemporary technology engineering education. Awardees serve as models for their colleagues, inspiration to their communities and leaders in their region, province or state as proponents of advancing technological literacy for all.
“Last year, Badger's Technology Education department received the "Program of Excellence" award from the Wisconsin Technology Educators Association. This award is given to the top program in the state each year. As a result of that award, Badger was entered into the running for a Program of Excellence award from the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association,” stated Jake Popanda, Career & Technical Education Coordinator at Badger High School. “We are thrilled and honored to be selected as one of the recipients of this award,” he continued.
The award will be presented during the April ITEEA conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
"I am extremely proud of our Career & Technical Education Department at Badger High School,” said Jennifer Straus, Badger High School Principal. “Thank you to the national committee for recognizing our teachers and highlighting their consistent efforts to advance their profession.”
