AP Psychology

A full year course for the serious student who is college bound. This course introduces students to the systematic and scientific study of behavior and mental processes of human beings and other animals. Students are exposed to the psychological facts, principles, and phenomena associated with the major subfields within psychology. Students also learn about the methods psychologists use in their science and practice. Students will have the opportunity to pass the AP test in May and receive three college credits.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE?
This course is designed to prepare students (11th and 12th grade) for the academic rigor of college and life as a critical thinker. The emphasis is not only on psychology but also on becoming a more efficient and successful learner. I teach students the most effective ways to learn, study, review, and test. This has translated into two decades of scores with approximately 90% of AP students taking the College Board exam in May. Roughly 30-40% of students on average score a 5 and another 30-40% score a 4 which will test you out of Introductory Psychology (a required class in college). I want students to be prepared for both the academic challenges and emotional challenges of life after Badger.

WHAT KNOWLEDGE WILL BE GAINED?
I want students to be prepared for both the academic challenges and emotional challenges of life after Badger.
