Road work will begin on Monday, May 16, 2022, at the intersection of State Highway 120 and Bloomfield Road. A four-way stoplight will be installed at the busy intersection. The road work will result in roadway closings that will affect many families' school and summer activities commutes. Please review the details and the map for specifics. The driveways for Lake Geneva Middle School will be open. We apologize for the inconvenience; however, we know in the long term this new stoplight will make for a safer intersection for our students, families and the Lake Geneva community. ACT Aspire Assessment 2021
03/25/2021
Wisconsin students in grades 9 and 10 will be participating in the ACT Aspire assessment during the April 5 - May 19, testing window. State assessments, including Aspire, are required by both State (Wisconsin State Statute s. 118.30) and Federal (Every Student Succeeds Act) Law. Participation in State assessments can help determine the impact the pandemic has had on academic achievement and equity. Equitable testing is important because clearly knowing the performance of all students is the first step in closing achievement gaps. We must know exactly which gaps exist, the size of the gaps, and the persistence of the gaps. Sophomores are scheduled to take the Aspire assessment on Tuesday, April 13th, while freshmen will take the Aspire assessment on Tuesday, April 20th.

Badger DECA: MDA Miracle Week 10/12 - 10/16 Every day, children are born with muscular dystrophy and adults are diagnosed with ALS and other life-threatening diseases that take away their most basic freedoms - like walking, talking, eating, hugging, and ultimately life itself. I'm raising money to help MDA fight back! MDA has recently launched a service learning program called MDA Muscle Corps. I have chosen to participate and through this program, I will help raise needed funds to help give these abilities back through early intervention, local engagement, and the search for better treatments and cures. MDA is on the front lines fighting for families during the global pandemic and I have chosen to stand alongside the MDA to ensure all families have equal access to the care they need today, and into the future. DECA has been instrumental in supporting neuromuscular diseases for more than 30 years, raising $5 million dollars to fuel MDA’s mission. The money we raise will help children and adults in our community, and will also help support innovative research to change the future for people with neuromuscular disease. Please make a donation. Thank you!

5.13.20 Principal Update
05/13/2020
We have a little over four weeks of school left in the 2019-20 school year. Time has moved pretty fast even with the abrupt halt to school as we’ve always known it. I thank all of you who are engaged in learning and showing up virtually for your classes and assignments. This is truly a training ground for life. Once out of school, you decide whether or not to show up to life. Determine how you want to walk in this world. So, through the COVID-19 learning experience that we can all tell future generations all about, I do hope that the skills of organization, determination, and resiliency have grown for all of us.

Since the state has closed school for the remainder of the year, we have decided that we will not be able to reschedule Prom. Additionally, we believe that Prom is an event that simply cannot take place virtually. As a result, there will be no 2020 Prom.

Good day - Hope this weekly update finds you well. We wanted to address the questions around the grading policy in the time of COVID-19. Simply put, Badger Administration and Staff wanted to ensure that with all the uncertainty our families and students are living with at this time, we do no harm in our grading process. To that end, Quarter 4 of the 2019-20 school year can only grow the Semester 2 grade for our students.

Hope this email finds you and your family well. Please know that you are missed. Virtual Learning and Virtual Meets are not what we all signed up for. I think back to why I decided to become a teacher. When I was in my first year of college, I came home for break and spent one day observing a former teacher of mine in the classroom. I thought it was pretty cool that she got to spend her day facilitating student discussion and learning. So, I was hooked. I was not hooked on sitting at my desk and communicating virtually. It is just not me, but for this time I can adapt and tolerate/enjoy the experience knowing that at some point we will return to face-to-face learning.

Badger High School’s One Act Play, "The Amazing Angelman", competed at the State Theater Competition held at UW-Milwaukee on Friday, Nov. 22nd and took home eight awards, including Critic's Choice, the highest award a play can receive. The play performed to a full house on the Mainstage and received a standing ovation. The plot is about a young boy, James, who suffers from Angelman Syndrome, a neurodevelopmental disorder that causes speech issues and forces him to use a wheelchair. The story shifts from James’ imagination where he is the superhero, The Amazing Angel-Man, to the real world, where his condition impacts his family, particularly his father. As the play progresses, the two separate worlds overlap, leading to an ending that merges hope and imagination. The play was inspired by a real-life boy with the condition. The cast included 27 Badger actors and actresses as well as two crew members.

August 9th, Badger High School’s very own National Honors Society, lead by Laura Shotliff, set out into the aisles of Wal-Mart on a mission. The Backpack Benefactor Project, begun by Julia Adams, a former student at Badger, has been a staple for several years to National Honors Society. Every summer, students use the money they have raised throughout the previous school year to buy school supplies and necessities for those who are less fortunate and do not have the means of providing for themselves. The group was fortunate enough to spend $2500 on backpacks and school supplies to assist roughly 148 students in the Lake Geneva school districts. Numbers are doublings and the members of National Honors Society are striving hard to provide as much as they can for these children.
